Veterans Designation On Florida
Diver's License...
The state of Florida wants to show its appreciation for military
veterans by allowing them to add a new option to their driver's licenses.
* Upon renewal only
A new state law allows veterans with an honorable discharge to add a
special designation to their driver's licenses. A blue "V" is added in the
lower right hand corner of a license.
That little designation can make a big difference when veterans need to
prove their military service. Usually they have to show a special form
called a DD-214 to prove their service to collect certain benefits. Now,
they can just pull out their driver's license.
To get the "V" added to your license, just go to any driver's license
facility or tax collector's office and bring your DD-214 form. There's a
one-time $1 fee in addition to the cost of the replacement or renewal fee.
